While some teams look to add in new assets, some other teams may look to unload unwanted assets to ‘tank’ and get higher draft picks.
Interestingly, most of the teams this year, are frantically looking to sell their stacked class of 2023. The French phenom Victor Wembanyama is one of the main reasons behind this move as many teams have their eyes on him.

The NBA have confirmed that the deadline date for the 2022-23 NBA trade will be 9 February 2023. Despite still being a little over two weeks away from the deadline, teams have already started making moves.
Teams to watch out
With the NBA trade deadline date confirmed, teams will start making big moves in the upcoming days. Given below is a list of some teams to watch out for as the deadline date approaches.
LA Lakers
The Los Angeles Lakers could end up making a series of season-altering moves before the deadline date. The team have already brought in Rui Hachimura are currently rumoured to be interested in signing several players. One such player is Detroit Pistons’ forward Bojan Bogdanovic. The 33-year-old wing has averaged 21 points this season and could solve their shooting problems.
However, a move for Bojan could mean giving up at least one first-round pick. Another player in consideration is Russell Westbrook, although this would a trade away from the team. Russ is primarily a player with a huge contract and a non-shooting play style. The Lakers currently seem ready to move on with Russ and are interested in signing Jakob Poeltl, Josh Richardson, or Doug McDermott as replacements.
The Phoenix Suns
The Phoenix Suns are struggling to find form ever since Devin Booker got injured. They are currently placed at 7th and are considering to trade off veteran point guard Chris Paul. The Suns are reportedly interested in trading in Fred VanVleet.
LA Clippers
The LA Clippers currently have John Wall sidelined due to an abdominal strain. Moreover, they are placed in 6th place. They are strongly in need of reinforcements and are reportedly looking at signing Jazz guard Mike Conley. Besides him, the Clippers are also looking to add more depth behind their center Ivica Zubac at the frontcourt.
