Lin Brehmer professional career
Lin Brehmer started working in the radio industry in January 1977. His first disc jockey job was in Albany, New York at the WQBK-FM, where he earned his nickname, โThe Reverend of Rock and Roll.โ After 7 years of work at WQBK, Brehmer left the position and moved to Chicago to work for WQRT as the music director beginning in October of 1984.
During his 6 years tenure at the WXRT, Brehmer was named the โMusic Director of the Yearโ by the FMQB for three of those years. In early 1989, Hard Reportโs readers voted Lin Brehmer as their โMusic Director of the Decade.โ In October of 1990, he left WXRT and shifted to Minnesota for a job as a program director of the KTCZ-FM.
Brehmer returned to Chicagoโs WXRT to work as morning D.J., replacing Terri Hemmert. For the past 20 years at the WXRT, he has been hosting a yearly remote broadcast at The Chicago Cubs’ home opening day. On the 1st of September in 1995, Brehmer was the first non-Cleveland disc jockey who broadcast live from the radio studio of the (then-)new Rock and the Roll Hall of Fame.
