It’s time for another Snooker Shootout. It is impossible to be disappointed by a tournament that is renowned for its dramatic play and for producing new champions in the snooker globe.

No player outside the top 16 in the world has ever won the competition since it began in 2011. The previous year, Hossein Vafaei defeated Mark Williams in the championship match to become the first Iranian player to win a ranking title.

In the past, the outcome of the competition has been uncertain, at the Shoot Out, players like Michael Holt, Michael Georgiou, Thepchaiya Un-Nooh, and reigning champion Hossein Vafaei all won their maiden championships.

Leicester’s Morningside Arena will host 2023 Shoot Out from Wednesday, January 25 through Saturday, January 28.

Snooker Shootout 2023 format

All matches at the Shootout, up to and including the Final, will be one frame long and last a maximum of 10 minutes, with each player having their own shot clock, the first 5 minutes will be at 15 seconds each shot, and the remaining 5 minutes at 10 seconds per shot.

The first two days, December 25 and 26, will be dedicated to the first round of matches.

On the 27th, there will be matches from the second round.

On the 28th, there will be three rounds, the third and fourth, as well as the semifinals, final, and quarterfinals.
