Wasim Akram’s son Tahmoor has decided to follow his father’s example by choosing to pursue a career in sports.
Tamoor chooses to become and MMA fighter
Despite choosing a career in sports, Tahmoor is pursuing a much different sport that his father. The 26-year-old who lives in the US has chosen to pursue his dream of becoming an MMA fighter.
The young athlete received his training in mixed martial arts in the states and is now a professional MMA fighter. According to his father Wasim, Tahmoor just recently participated in a professional MMA fight. The ‘Sultan of Swing’ revealed the news about his son’s decision during a cricket event in the United Arab Emirates.
Tahmoor is quite active on the internet and often posts updates about his fights and on his journey to becoming a professional MMA fighter on social media.
Wasim’s reaction to his son’s choice of career
Following his son’s decision to choose an MMA career, Wasim Akram simply shared:
“My son has been living in America, there is not much cricket there, anyway. I have given my children the right to live the life they want. If he wants to be a fighter, then he must”

Wasim Akram has two sons from his first marriage with Huma Mufti. Tahmoor, who is currently 26 years old, is the elder of the two and has a younger brother named Akbar. Sadly, their mother passed away several years back in October 2009, following multiple organ failure.
Later in 2013, Akram married an Australian social worker named Shaniera. The couple then had their first daughter named Aiyla in the following year.
