Mary Bear Taylor, a hairdresser who was originally from Silsden and had moved to Dubai in order to seek a career in that city, passed away in Dubai only a few short months after moving there with a cause of death not known yet.

Mary’s sister, Joanne Edwards, reportedly said on Facebook, โThis is a post we never ever wanted to write. But unfortunately, our beautiful, funny, crazy Mary Bear Taylor has passed away in Dubai. Weโre all absolutely shocked and devastated.โ
GoFundMe raises more than ยฃ11,000 already
Since then, Mary Bear Taylor’s stepfather Andy Thompson has started a GoFundMe campaign to help her return to Silsden.
Andy wrote in the page’s about section that Mary Bear Taylor is a “hardworking and thoughtful woman, dedicated daughter, sister, and mother.” He added that it had been difficult for the family to accept that “she was stolen from us way too early.”
An inspiration for her community
The initial ยฃ8,000 goal of the plea was met within six hours, and more money has been donated since then. So far, the page has raised more than ยฃ11,000 in just 24 hours.
Many generous donors have written touching messages to Mary Bear Taylor to accompany their contributions. She is an inspiration to all, according to the letter that was sent to her. The Facebook group Silsden Buzz has also seen some touching tributes.
