And to refrain from losing another Bernabeu legend, the Los Blancos’ fans will be glad to know that Karim Benzema has extended his contract.
The Frenchman arrived at Santiago Bernabeu in 2009 from Lyon. Having spent 12 years at the club, Benzema has scored 281 goals for Real Madrid. Also, ever since Cristiano Ronaldo left for Juventus in 2018, Benzema has scored more than 20 goals in each of the past three La Liga seasons.
The 33-year old French International is also the club’s 5th highest goal-scorer of all-time. Benzema is just 27 goals away from surpassing the legendary Alfredo Di Stefano who is the 3rd-highest goalscorer of all-time for the Los Blancos.
The French International has won four Champions League titles and 3 La Liga titles during his stint at Real Madrid. KB has made 560 appearances for the Spanish giants, making him sit at 10th position on the club’s list of all-time appearances.

Real had a great start to the new season, winning 4-1 against Alaves with Benzema finding the back of the net twice. He is in flying form and can prove to be lethal once again this season.
Many footballing fans were hoping to see Kylian Mbappe reuniting with Benzema at Real Madrid. However, it seems like PSG has no intentions to let go of the 22-year old wonder kid.
