For those who are unversed, let us tell you, we have always seen Samit behind the stands cheering for his father during IPL days, however, now the little one is all preparing out to make his debut for the professional cricket.
Who’s Samit Dravid?
For those who are unfamiliar, let us tell you, Samit is the eldest son of former Indian cricketer, Rahul Dravid and his medical surgeon wife, Vijeta Pendharkar. The two welcomed Samit back in 2005.
Unlike his father, who has won everyone’s heart with his impressive defensive skills, the little Dravid is an attacking batsman.
Samit came into lime-light back in April 2016, when he smashed 125 runs in an Under 14 game against Frank Anthony Public school.
Later he again made headlines in 2018 when he smashed a century during BTR Cup Under 14, Inter School Tournament which was held by the Karnataka State Cricket Association.
During the tournament, Samit alone had scored 150 runs for Mallya Aditi International School against Vivekananda School.
After witnessing his amazing performance, many of athletes were left amazed by his energy and way of playing. A former legendary spinner of Sri Lanka, Muttiah Muralitharan went on to state that he saw the glimpse of Rahul Dravid’s batting in Samit’ play.
Apart from cricket, Samit also enjoys swimming, music, as well as traveling. For those who aren’t sure, let us tell you, Samit was coached by his father, Rahul Dravid himself.
As per reports, his innings consists of 22 boundaries in addition with an unbeaten 94 in the second innings. He also got 3 wickets as well.
Talking about Anvay Dravid, the younger brother of Samit and younger son of Rahul, who was born in 2009, has also followed in the footsteps of his brother and father.
Anvay is also expected to play professionally in the future under the mentorship of his father.
