Australian Open 2023 women’s singles predictions, top favourites players and betting odds

1- Iga Swiatek

According to the most recent WTA rankings, the 21-year-old Swiatek is by far the best player in the world. The World No. 1 and the WTA Best Player of the Year 2022, everyone has seen her outstanding performance last year which amazed everyone.

The Pole, with her overwhelming performance, has made a lot of fans and admirers those will be looking forward to her for an exciting start.

In 2022, she won both the US and French Opens in addition to the Australian Open, where she advanced to the semifinals before falling to Danielle Collins in straight sets. But because Ashleigh Barty retired in March, she won’t have to compete with her for the Australian Open title in 2022.

Swiatek triumphed in seven different competitions in 2022 in addition to claiming two Grand Slam titles. It comes as no surprise that she is the clear favourite to win the first Grand Slam of 2023.

2- Caroline Garcia

Despite not having the best history at the Australian Open or Grand Slam competitions in general, Caroline Garcia’s name is towards the top of the odds board. The Spanish player never advanced past the first round of a tournament until 2022, when she was eliminated.

Nevertheless, the 29-year-old has climbed to fourth place in the WTA rankings and won four singles championships in 2022. She’s also on a high after achieving her highest Grand Slam semifinal appearance at the 2022 US Open.

Garcia has had some brilliant performance and moves last year that makes her one of the favourites at the Australian Open 2023.

3- Ons Jabeur

Another one, along with Swiatek who won the hearts of tennis fans with her stunning performance on the court is Ons Jabeur. The 28-year-old Tunisian’s finest performance at the Australian Open came about in 2020 when she advanced to the quarterfinals before falling to eventual tournament winner Sofia Kenin in straight sets.

However, Jabeur has some momentum. While she has yet to claim a Grand Slam title, she has advanced to the finals of her past two events, losing to Elena Rybakina at Wimbledon in 2022 and to Iga Swiatek at the US Open in 2017. Let’s see what happens this year, she won’t be letting slip away the title this time.

4- Aryna Sabalenka

World No. 5 Aryna Sabalenka who has already secured her 1st WTA to toe of the year 2023 at Adelaide International 1 will be one of the huge favourites at the first grand slam.

The Belarusian has had a fantastic season to date. Her success has primarily been attributed to her strong serve, which has held up throughout the week. On the mental side of the game, Sabalenka has also advanced with her aggressive approach. The Belarussian won’t let slip away her long-awaited title this time.

5- Coco Gauff

The teen sensational player can’t be forgotten in the top 5 in women’s tennis this year following her unbelievable action on the court last year.

The current World No. 7, to reach her first grand slam final, won over Rebecca Marino, Alison Van Uytvanck, Kaia Kanepi, 31st seed Elise Mertens, Sloane Stephens, and Martina Trevisan on route to the French Open singles final last year, where she fell to Iga Swiatek, the eventual winner, in straight sets. She and Jessica Pegula competed in the doubles final but were defeated by Caroline Garcia and Kristina Mladenovic.

Gauff became the first American woman since 2009 to reach the quarterfinals of a major tournament at the US Open after defeating the 20th seed Madison Keys and Zhang Shuai. She also qualified for the WTA Finals championships in October, becoming the youngest singles player to do so since Maria Sharapova in 2005.
