All their sarees come from fashionable designs and with a premium look. The brand is founded by Slony Gambhir whose family runs a textile business.

When Gambhir was 14 years old, she used to work in her father’s textile store and used to manage the clients alongside handling accounts.

After completing her degree in B.Tech and then MBA, Slony went on to work in the corporate world, where she worked for around 10 years.

Back in 2016, Gambhir left her job and started her own venture of Indian saree from her home in Pune. She started her business after she took a loan of 25 sarees from her father and her husband who supported her in the business.

Very Much Indian in Shark Tank India

Gambhir alongside her husband appeared in Episode 2 of Shark Tank India, where they demanded Rs. 50 Lakhs for 3% equity at a valuation of Rs. 16.67 Crore.

The brand sells sarees at an affordable price whereas they are associated with over 400 weavers community all around India.

The company sells all types of sarees from Silk to cotton to zari to polyester, and many more. Apart from it, the company also sells cheapest sarees as well as expensive sarees.

The lowest rate of the brand’s products at around Rs. 1,800 and the highest rate of the saree can be seen at around Rs. 78,000.

Founder

Slony Gambhir founded her company back in 2016 after she quit her corporate job. The businesswoman came to the show alongside her Shark Tank India and asked for Rs. 50 Lakh for 3% equity when she explained how their brand works and what its sales rate is.

Shark’s Words

After listening to the struggle story of Slony Namita Thapar stated that she would become an investor in the business.

Meanwhile, Aman also agreed to invest in the business. Gambhir projected that her brand will achieve annual sales of Rs. 2 Crore by the end of 2023.

She further revealed that their target is to sell up to 1,000 sarees every month and at present their sell rate is 100+ every month.

For those who are unsure about the annual sales of Very Much Indian, let us tell you, the brand has managed to receive an annual sale of Rs. 17 Lakh for 2018-19.

In 2019-20, their annual sale went upto Rs. 20 Lakh. Followed by it, the brand managed to increase the sale by 225% as they saw Rs. 65 Lakh sales.
