Why Kapil Dev decided to use the emoji of the Tajikistan flag as he wished India a Happy Independence Day is something which only he knows best
As the entire India joined hands to wish the country a Happy Independence Day on 15th August, so did the sporting fraternity. Manifold cricketers, both current and retired passed on their rousing wishes to the land as well as the country united to celebrate its 75th Independence Day.
Kapil Dev, the hero of India’s 1983 Cricket World Cup triumph and one of the finest cricketers to have played the game took to Twitter to extend his wishes to the team. In a post for Captain Pure, Kapil was seen wishing India on the occasion of Independence Day as he wrote Jai Hind.
Kapil Dev Brings Out Tajikistan Flag During Independence Day Wish
However, in what was a massive gaffe, Kapil sent the wish with the emoji of the Tajikistan flag rather than the Indian flag. Where India celebrates its Independence Day on 15th August, Tajikistan’s comes on 9th September with people left scratching over Kapil’s decision to use the country’s flag.

While Kapil Dev did post a new wish on Twitter, he still hasn’t deleted the erroneous wish with a raft of people poking fun at the wish.
India meanwhile celebrated its 75th Independence Day on Sunday with the country erupting in rapturous celebrations. PM Narendra Modi hosted India’s over 100 member strong Olympics contingent at the Red Fort with the players being invited to a meet and great breakfast with the Prime Minister on Monday morning.
India ended up with seven medals at Tokyo Olympics 2020.
