Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami saved the Lord’s test match for India as the two went hammer and tongs with the bat
Day 5 of the England vs India 2nd test match has provided all the thrills which test cricket brings with it. A topsy-turvy day of cricket saw the clash persistently switch hands before finally landing in India’s lap as the day’s play broke for tea.
However, things weren’t quite so hunky dory for India at the start of the day. A hanky panky start for the Indians saw both Rishabh Pant and Ishant Sharma depart early on to leave India staring at the barrel.
Clutching at thin straws with the writing written on the wall for the Indians, Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami decided to get the team’s house in order. Not only did they tread over thin ice but the two moved in tandem to manifest a potentially match winning stand for the country.

Holding the fort, the pair played some stellar shots to rake up a sensational partnership for the side. It allowed India to declare soon after lunch with both remaining not out as Shami went onto register his half-century.
And the two were lauded in the most befitting of manners with the entire Indian setup coming to the ground floor of Lord’s to welcome the two back. The squad was captured on its feet, cheering and clapping for Shami and Bumrah raucously in a video which has been shared by BCCI.
