Shiva Chauhan is a well-known Indian Army officer. She has been in the news because she recently made history by becoming the first female army officer to be operationally posted at the highest battlefield in Kumar Post on the Siachen glacier. While her DOB isn’t known, she is aged between 25-35 years. Her family details are not known.
She is associated with the Fire and Fury Corps of the Indian Army. The northern command is in charge of this corps. This corps defends the Siachen Glacier from Pakistan and China. She is presently a captain in the Indian Army. She had to undergo a rigorous training before being sent to the Kumar Post.
Due to its uninhabitable state, Kumar Post is one of the most dangerous stations for the Indian Army. It is situated on the Siachen Glacier, which has seen sporadic fighting between India and Pakistan since 1984 and is regarded as the highest battlefield on earth.
More than 800 troops perished in Siachen from 1984 to 2015 as a result of the harsh weather here. Avalanches and mishaps also claimed the lives of several soldiers. But 3000 Indian soldiers are constantly stationed there because it is so crucial from a strategic standpoint.
According to Aaj Tak, the Indian government pays the soldiers stationed in Siachen over Rs 5 crore daily.
Because of this, every soldier, regardless of gender, considers working at Siachen to be a particularly special experience. However, we can guarantee that Shiva Chauhan will be eligible for it because she was chosen for the position because of her hard work.
