Zomato has released an annual report for 2022 with the top foodies in India.
According to Zomato’s annual report for 2022, they’ve identified “the nation’s biggest foodie.” It was reported in Business Today that Ankur, a Delhi resident, placed 3,330 orders on Zomato this year, or around 9 orders each day.

The numbers from Ankur’s meal orders weren’t the only ones that baffled the staff. A customer named Rahul placed an order for 1098 cakes on the Zomato app, a person named Tina from Kharagpur placed an order for Rs 25,455 worth of pizzas all at once, and Zomato delivered 182 biryanis every minute.
This year, a user from Pune spent Rs 28 lakh on meals ordered via Zomato, and a person named Ravivar saved Rs 6.96 lakh by taking advantage of various offers. Similarly, Swiggy found that the previous year saw a rise in the frequency with which people ordered meal delivery.
The seventh annual Swiggy trends study found that chicken biryani is the most popular meal purchased through the app. For the seventh year in a row, chicken biryani was the most popular dish ordered through the app. There was nothing unexpected about chicken biryani’s meteoric rise to the top of the charts.
Paneer pasanda is the most googled recipe
Looking at 2022 Google data for Indian recipe searches reveals some other fascinating patterns. According to Google’s Year in Search report for 2022, the most popular Indian dish recipe this year was Paneer Pasanda. In third place was the Modak, who had previously been in second.
Sex on the Beach followed chicken soup and malai kofta on the menu. The Enoki mushroom took the top rank in 2021. Modak came in hot on the heels of the fungi. Methi matar malai, palak, and chicken soup were the subsequent three most popular Indian cuisines.
Zomato CEO becomes delivery person for a day
Meanwhile, on December 31st, Deepinder Goyal, CEO of Zomato, took on the role of delivery executive for the company’s online food delivery platform. Goyal became the company’s foot soldier for the evening, delivering a number of orders, the first of which he interestingly fulfilled at the company’s headquarters.
