As per the investigators, the 19-year-old Bickford of Wells, who wrote a letter to his family had urged them to convert so they “may be taken out of the hellfire.”
As per the statement given by the source of law enforcement agencies, when the suspect traveled to Manhattan to execute the attack he carried a handwritten message along with a selection of religious literature.
As per a report by DailyMail, soon afterwards, Trevor reportedly stabbed 2 police officers on Saturday, December 31, after which an NYPD police official shot him in the shoulder and then both were rushed to Bellevue Hospital in Manhattan.
As per a police representative, the message of Trevor reads, “To my family, specifically, mother, I’m sorry for not having been a good enough son.”
He further went on to write that unpublished note that he hoped his family would one day have the same perspective as him.
He stated that, “I fear greatly that you will not repent to Allah,” before saying “And therefore I hold hope in my heart that a piece of you believes so that you may be taken out to the hellfire.”
As per a report by New York Post, he expressed to his aunt that his intention is to travel to the Middle East and that fight led her to notify the police.
The outlet further noted that Paul has just graduated from the academy on Friday and was assigned to a station on Staten Island.
As per his obituary, Trevor’s father, Thomas Bickford, passed away unexpectedly in 2018 at the age of 41. Trevor’s father, Thomas and Audra D’Antilio married in September, 2001 and shared 3 children together, Travis and Devon and Tavor. His brother is in the US army.
19 year old Bickford, a 2022 graduate of Wells High School, was also taken to the hospital after he was shot in the shoulder by one of the injured officers during the attack.
