A former teacher of Kohberger’s at Pleasant Valley High School said that he was a “nice student” who “never in significant problems,” and that he was “excited about criminal justice” after graduating from DeSales University in Pennsylvania with a master of arts in criminal justice in May 2022. She reportedly said, “I hoped he would become a police officer or corrections officer.” He would watch a police drama and then the next day inquire as to whether or not I had watched it. For him, it was more than just a pastime; he was insatiably curious.
