Following their shocking loss in ODI series against Bangladesh towards end of 2022, India will be eager to return on winning ways during their home-series against Sri Lanka. In January 2023, India will play three T20Is against the Lankans before playing two ODI matches to culminate the series.

2023 India vs Sri Lanka T20I & ODI Series Preview, Match Schedule, Date, Venue, & Other Details
Towards the end of 2022, India struggled against Bangladesh in ODI series before losing 1-2 despite the proximity of contest during all matches. Later, India managed dominant 2-0 series win in test matches and climbed towards second-place in the World Test Championship rankings to finish 2022 on high-note. Ahead of their 2023 ODI World Cup campaign, India will aim to get maximum possible practice with their upcoming ODI & T20I series against Sri Lanka serving as the perfect occasion for that.
The first T20I match featuring India vs Sri Lanka will be played on 3rd January with the second match scheduled on 5th January and last match of series set on 7th January. Despite the team’s wish to play as many matches possible, this series will be missed by numerous Indian players due to injury including skipper Rohit Sharma. However, Rohit Sharma has been announced in the squad for ODI series, which is scheduled to begin from 10th January.
