Tanner Hoang- Who Was He?
Student Tanner Hoang, 22, was from Flower Mound in the Dallas area. At Texas A&M University, he was a mechanical engineering student. Tanner was a “fun-loving, sorta quiet but likeable young man and extremely modest,” said his League City-based uncle Tuan Hoang. Tanner is the type of person that any parent would adore having as a son. His mother is named Alisa Hoang.
On December 16, 2022—the day of his college graduation—he disappeared. Tanner’s father claims that his text message to him was read on the morning of December 16 at about 8:30 a.m. The following day, Tanner was scheduled to appear for a lunch meeting, but he did not. Tanner stopped to fill up the car’s tank in Caldwell, Texas, according to his debit card transaction.
Tanner Hoang’s Dead Body Was Found
On December 24, 2022, police officers found his dead corpse on Pennybacker Bridge, which crosses the Colorado River on Highway 360. His family posted a notice on social media to share the tragic news of his passing.
The cause of his death was not released by his family, but there was no foul play.

“He was set to graduate, but I’m not sure what would have caused him to go,” said Tanner’s other uncle, Bao Hoang, following his abrupt disappearance.
The family of Tanner posted the following on the Facebook page for the search for Tanner Hoang: “This afternoon Tanner was found dead in the area of the Pennybacker Bridge on Loop 360. Tanner is now in the arms of his Savior, King, Prince of Peace, Joy, and Healer on this Christmas Eve, which is not the outcome we have all been praying for. There is no suspicion of wrongdoing.”
After Tanner passed away, his family expressed their gratitude to everyone who helped them with their inquiries and search efforts.
