Ashley Guillard, a Texas-based Tik Toker, was sued by Rebecca Scofield after making libellous claims about an Idaho professor
She was found claiming that the professor was accountable for the horrifying murders of four University of Idaho students.
Rebecca Scofield, an associate professor and the department chair of history at the University of Idaho, filed a lawsuit alleging that Guillard posted defamatory remarks about her on Tik Tok. This was despite being served with numerous cease and desist letters.

The professor’s and her family’s lives were put in danger when Guillard allegedly made insulting and false claims about the professor despite numerous warnings. This was reported by the defamation lawsuit which was filed earlier this week.
The Lawsuit
Rebecca Scofield, a professor at the University of Idaho, filed a federal complaint earlier this week accusing Ashley Guillard, a Texas-based Tik Toker, of slander. The lawsuit claimed that despite never having met the professor in person, Guillard produced more than a dozen Tik Tok videos connecting her to the brutal stabbings.
According to Law and Crime, Guillard allegedly recorded over 20 recordings in which she claimed that the professor murdered the four students with the assistance of a different student, J.D. because she was having an affair with one of the victims. The complaint stated: “Defendant Ashley Guillard, a self-described internet investigator, volunteered to choose the suffering of the neighbourhood for her own online self-promotion.” She has repeatedly misrepresented Plaintiff in videos on TikTok.
According to the lawsuit, Guillard was charged with spreading the false claim “by consulting Tarot cards and performing other readings to gather knowledge about the murders.” It was further claimed that she had fabricated the professor’s guilt to use the tragedy to gain attention on social media.
Put Lives In Danger In Exchange For Fame
According to the lawsuit, Guillard’s persistent assertions put the lives of her family in danger and hurt her career. The professor went on to say that Guillard persisted in tarnishing her reputation despite the attorneys’ cease and desist letter dated November 29.
The TikTok allegedly continued to post videos despite numerous requests for her to stop making outrageous claims without evidence. According to the lawsuit, the professor was not present in Idaho when the killings took place. The case developed as follows: Guillard’s fake TikToks have damaged Professor Scofield’s reputation.
They’ve caused her a great deal of emotional suffering. She is concerned about both her life and the lives of those she loves. Guillard claimed that she was getting ready for a fight and that the prospect of going to the court made her “gleam with pleasure” in regard to the complaint that was posted on Tik Tok. “People simply don’t comprehend that I have prevailed in my battles against institutional racism, businesses, giants, and people of all sizes.”
Kyle Pfannenstiel, a spokesman for the University of Idaho, issued a statement in which he backed the professor and denounced Guillard’s actions.
