A superfan of the Kansas City Chiefs is well-known for his devotion to the AFC West football team with ChiefsAholic now viral on Twitter
He’s making news this week, though, for all the wrong reasons.
Kansas City Chiefs Superfan ChiefsAholic Robs Bank Wearing His Wolf Costume, Goes Viral On Twitter
ChiefsAholic detained for robbing a bank.
Fans of Kansas City refer to Xavier Michael Babudar as “ChiefsAholic” because he was detained for committing an armed robbery at a bank in Bixby, Oklahoma. Bail for Babudar has been set at $200,000, according to Tulsa County Jail records (via Max Molski of NBC 5 Dallas-Fort Worth).
According to Emily Farris of 2 News Oklahoma, here are some specifics on the event and the arrest: “On December 16, at 9:35 a.m., Bixby police were called to an armed robbery that was taking place at the Tulsa Teachers Credit Union close to Memorial and 131st. When reporting the robbery to the police over the phone, an eyewitness provided a description of the perpetrator as well as the direction in which he ran.
Officers put up a perimeter in a nearby neighbourhood once they arrived, and there they apprehended the suspect trying to flee while carrying a firearm and a significant quantity of cash.
Babudar was dressed as a wolf while robbing.
If this story wasn’t bizarre enough, it appears that Babudar was dressed as a wolf during the bank robbery. According to sources, Babudar was en route to the Chiefs’ Week 15 away game against the Houston Texans when he was arrested. Thanks to Jerick McKinnon’s game-winning touchdown run in overtime, the Chiefs narrowly avoided a major upset and triumphed 30-24.
Babudar might spend the rest of his life in prison if found guilty. With a record of 11-3, the Chiefs are tied with the Buffalo Bills for first place in the AFC, but Buffalo has the advantage in head-to-head games because of their victory in Kansas City in Week 6 on the road.
The only first-round bye in the AFC would go to the Buffalo Bills, and the Super Wild Card Weekend would begin with a matchup between the Miami Dolphins and Tua Tagovailoa’s Kansas City. When the Kansas City Chiefs play the Seattle Seahawks on Saturday, they will attempt to complete a fifth consecutive season of 12-plus victories.
