Who Is Garima Arora?

Garima Arora is a well-known Indian chef. She has been in the news because she is going to appear in “MasterChef India” as a judge.

She was born on November 9, 1986, in Mumbai, Maharashtra. Her father’s name is Anil Arora and her mother’s name is Neetu Arora. She has a brother named Nauroze Arora. Garima’s husband is a pilot for Jet Airways in Mumbai but his name is not known.

She did her schooling at a local school in Mumbai. Later, she attended the University of Mumbai where she got her Bachelor of Mass communication and journalism. She also attended Le Cordon Bleu in France where she got her diploma in cuisine and patisserie.

Her height is 170 cm or 5 ft 7 inches and her weight is 60 kg or 132 lbs. She is currently 36 years old.

Her Career

Garima Arora worked in Copenhagen under René Redzepi of Noma, Gordon Ramsay, and Chef Gaggan Anand after receiving her education. In April 2017, she opened her own restaurant, Gaa, in Bangkok. Three-story restaurant Gaa has a contemporary tasting menu made using traditional Indian cooking methods.

She and her restaurant received a Michelin star in November 2018, making Arora the first Indian woman to have that title. Restaurant Gaa debuted at No. 16 on Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants list in March 2019, winning the award for Highest New Entry.

She received the World’s 50 Best Restaurants’ award for Asia’s Best Female Chef for the year in February 2019. On the list of the World’s 50 Best Restaurants, Restaurant Gaa debuted in June 2019 at position 95.
