The idea for the league came from how popular the Kabaddi tournament was at the Asian Games in 2006, and its format was based on the IPL, which is India’s T20 franchise cricket league.
At first, there were doubts about how well the League would do because, unlike cricket, Kabaddi had fewer well-known players. But a huge 43.5 crores people watched the first season, which was second only to the 55.2 crores people who watched the 2014 IPL. On Saturday, December 17, at the Vault, NSCI SVP Arena in Mumbai, the Jaipur Pink Pumas and Puneri Paltan face off in the fantastic Expert Kabaddi 2022 finale. Jaipur won the points table, followed by Paltan.
These two clubs were preseason favourites. The semi-finals were different, though. Jaipur Pink Panthers defeated Bengaluru Bulls 49-29 in a close game. Sahul Kumar made eleven tackles, driving their defenders crazy.
In the final game, which was played today, December 17, 2022, Jaipur Pink Panthers beat Puneri Paltans 32-29. So, Abhishek Bachchan’s team, the Jaipur Pink Panthers, has finally won the first and ninth pro kabaddi seasons.
