Every year, the prize money for Mr Olympia increases. More than $700,000 in prize money will be given to the victor this year. Each of the bodybuilders that win the titles will receive a share of $1,600,000.
The championship’s inaugural prize pool of $1,000 was awarded in New York in 1965; by 2022, it will be $700,000. Two Mr Olympia titles were earned by Larry Scott. To succeed as champion in 1967, Sergio Oliva deposed him. Oliva was succeeded by Arnold Schwarzenegger, who won the award six times in a row. The title has been held for the previous two years by Mamdouh “Big Ramy” Elssbiay.
