Fatty Goes To Africa aka Gan Soujiong Food Blogger Stabbed To Death By Feng Zhengyung During Livestream
Following the shocking incident, which occurred in Nepal police have detained Feng Zhengyung, a 37-year-old Chinese national, as the prime suspect in the murder of Gan Soujiong, 29, and injuring Li Chuzan, 32.
How It Happened
According to various reports, the brutal knife attack took place on December 4 in the busy Indra Chowk market in Kathmandu, Nepal. The incident was captured on video as Gan, popularly known online as ‘Fatty Goes To Africa,’ was live streaming himself.
In the video, viewers can see Gan walking and laughing with two friends moments before things take a dark turn. The whole scene gets cuts off by a series of disturbing, high-pitched screams, , and follows with some frantic shaking. The whole screen goes dark after this.
Following the first clip, another clip emerged, which shows Gan sitting in the street bloodied and apparently dazed. While he sits, viewers can hear Feng cursing at Gan in Chinese. Gan on the other hand lies on the ground, while gripping his stomach and examining his abdominal wound. He can be seen pointing to a phone, most probably requesting a passersby to call for help.
Results Of The Shocking Incident
Following the brutal incident, medical officials took Gan to the National Trauma Centre. However, he succumbed to the stab wounds on his chest and stomach that same evening.
Meanwhile, Ganโs friend Chuzan, who also got injured from the incident has been hospitalized in critical condition. Chuzan was also stabbed multiple times in the stomach.
Whereas, Feng also known online as “Ayun,” on the other hand has been detained by the local police. According to some sources, Feng, who reportedly lives in Nepal, committed the heinous act because he was enraged with Gan on numerous unspecified disagreements and debts.
A Longstanding Feud
Feng continued to reveal more about his actions, stating that he was previously acquainted with the victim Gan. The 37-year-old asserted that Gan had mistreated him on several occasions.
The famous influencer allegedly stole $1,770.70 (about 9,099 yuan) from Feng and spent it on a phone. Feng also claimed that Gan even gave him food infected with Covid and also on one occasion sent some men to vandalize his home.
Gan was a social media influencer who used his multiple social media channels to share the cuisine and cultures of other countries with his 5 million Chinese fans. As of now, police are still investigating the brutal killings.
