Lalo Rodriguez was found dead outside a residential building in Carolina in the north of Puerto Rico. Puerto Rican police confirmed that no signs of violence were found on the body of the musician and the reason for his death is not yet confirmed. They further stated, ‘the body of the musician will be sent for an autopsy to settle the same.’

Palmiere honored the latter’s legacy in a Tweet on Twitter. “With very deep sadness, as I learn of the death of Lalo Rodriguez,” Palmieri stated. “I don’t need to tell you how much he has meant to me, our music and culture, and the world community.”

Ubaldo Rodriguez Santos was his real name and he hailed from Carolina, Puerto Rico and he was born on the 16th of May in 1958. Lalo Rodriguez developed a deep interest in singing quite early as he began singing at traditional Puerto Rican festivals along with performing on the radio and television programs at the very young age of 9.
Rodriguez rose to the limelight after he became part of the band, Eddie Palmiere as a teenager in early 1973 where he picked up the stage name Lalo. Lalo was a Grammy award winner. Rodriguez began his solo career in 1980. As a singer he was compared to other great salseros like Eddie Santiago, Jose Alberto “El Canario”, and Frankie Ruiz. Rodriguez stepped the world of music production, earning similar success.
Although the musician and singer received critical acclaim for his contribution to the music industry still he struggled with drug and alcohol addiction in his personal life. He was charged earlier on the grounds of cocaine possession.
