Who Was Chad Atkins?

Chad Atkins was a well-known American animal activist. He has been in the news because he passed away recently.

He was a native of Camarillo, California, United States. He got his bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, and Operations from California State University, Fresno.

He identifies himself as gay. He was married and his husband’s name is Bryan Diaz. They also have a son named Sebastian.

He was 44 years old when he passed away.

His Career

Chad Atkins started a profitable dog walking and boarding business while residing in San Francisco, and it lasted for more than ten years. Later, he relocated to Ventura County, where he built up a sizable clientele of brand-new animals.

Later, he closed his local company and accepted a position as a shelter manager. He was fired for “lack of finances” after only three short months and a lot of board disputes.

Chad Atkins was fired one week before Christmas, which devastated him. On January 17, 2014, he teamed up with Christina Morgan, a former client, and established Paw Works.

In less than 30 days, Paw Works was able to save enough canines and felines to become Ventura County the state of California’s first sizable No Kill county, a distinction they still have today. Over 3,200 animals have been rescued by his company from high-kill shelters across California to date.
