When Shawn signed to WWE contract, he was assigned to the company’s developmental territory, Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW). There he made his OVW television debut as “The Canadian Sensation” Shawn Spears, where he defeated SmackDown! Superstar Simon Dean.
On March 17th 2007, Shawn Spears achieved the Television Championship from Boris Alexiev, his first singles title in the OVW. Shawn Spears returned on the 12th October episode of Dynamite in Toronto as a face, reverting to his ‘Perfect 10’ gimmick from WWE.
Spears joined the organization in 2019, but in 2022 he hasn’t shown on Dynamite very often. He last competed in a match of wrestling on the episode of May 25 against Wardlow and could be on the way out of AEW with him yet to sign a new contract extension. His salary with the company isn’t known.
