During close first round, Parker kept Ryder at the end of his blows by using his height and reach. Later in second-round, Ryder tried to impose his will, and for a moment, he paid the price when he was caught by Parker. In the third round, neither fighter was able to establish much of an attacking rhythm, despite Parker landing two powerful blows late in the round; neither did much damage, but Ryder was forced to go on the defense.
Early in round four, Parker had success with his lone strokes. However, most fatal strike of this round, turned out to be Parker’s right uppercut that was deflected by gloves of Ryder. For fifth-round, Ryder stepped into ring with momentum on his side but was surprised when bell rang to signal Parker’s loss owing to injured hand.
