However, there has been a claim surrounding various media reports that a 7,000 crore contract had been reached with Tata Consumer Products Ltd. was refuted by the 82-year-old pioneer of the Indian bottled water industry.
Ramesh Chauhan had a positive response when asked whether he was selling his Bisleri Company. Talking to PTI, he said,
Yes. We are.
However, he did clarify that there are numerous potential purchasers with whom the company is in talks.
When questioned about the circumstances behind the sale of the Bisleri company, the 80-year-old businessman said that someone needed to manage it as his daughter Jayanti is not keen on doing so.

Ramesh Chauhan is a well-known Indian businessman. He has been in the news because he is planning to sell his packaged water company, Bisleri International.
He was born in Mumbai, Maharashtra on June 17, 1940. His father’s name is Jayantilal and his mother’s name is Jaya Chauhan. He also has a brother named Prakash Chauhan who handles Parle Agro, the parent company of Frooti and Bailey.
He did his schooling at a premium school in Mumbai. He then received a double major from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in mechanical engineering and business management.
He is married and his wife’s name is Zainab Chauhan, who is also involved in the management of Bisleri International Pvt. Ltd. They also have a daughter named Jayanti Chauhan, who is also the Vice Chairperson of Bisleri International Pvt. Ltd.

When Ramesh Chauhan was just 27 years old, he brought bottled mineral water to the Indian market at a period. In order to launch Parle Exports successfully, he acquired Bisleri from an Italian businessman in 1969 and began marketing mineral water in India.
Due to his decades of expertise, vision, and leadership, Bisleri is now the market leader in the bottled mineral water sector, a household name, and associated with mineral water.
Ramesh Chauhan has also introduced a number of additional brands, including Vedica, ThumsUp, Gold Spot, Citra, Maaza, and Limca, which are premium natural mineral water brands.
He returned to the soft drink market in 2016 with the introduction of “Bisleri POP,” which comes in four flavors: Spicy, Limonata, Fonzo, and PinaColada.
In addition to this, he is active in the recycling of PET (polyethylene terephthalate) and rainwater harvesting.
