A former pro boxer, Azea Augustama is making headlines after he was arrested for threatening to shoot up the BOXR gym
As per media reports, the ex-pro boxer, who rose to fame after being dubbed in “one of the world’s brightest up-and-coming light heavyweights,” was jailed as he reportedly threatened to shoot up a gym after he was barred from fighting.

Haitian boxer Azea Agustama, 39, of North #Miami, was jailed early Wednesday and charged with two felony counts of issuing written threats to commit a mass shooting and one count of threatening to kill.

The boxer, who represented Haiti in the Olympics back in 2008 was arrested on Tuesday, November 22 on the charges of 3 felonies. Azea was nabbed after putting a deposit down on an AK-47.
As per the affidavit, the boxer was charged with 2 counts of written threats to commit a mass shooting and one count of threatening to kill or bodily harm.
As per local media reports, the well known “Haitian Hitman,” was serving as a Personal trailer at the BOXR Gym in Miami from where he was reportedly banned.
As per a report by DailyMail.com, a trespassing notice was issued against the 39-year-old on November 11, 2022.
Following the incident, Azea shared a photo of a shooter from a 2018’s horrific massacre incident of Parkland school on his social media on Tuesday, November 22.
While sharing the post, he stated that he “was considering shooting” a group of people who say he “touched a girl.” The incidents apparently took place after the boxer told the police that he was returning to his gym to grab some of his items.
The professional ex-boxer stated that he is, “willing to shoot with an actual gun or bazooka [sic].”
Augustama allegedly texted one of his gym members, “He’s first when I get my gun,” while sharing a picture.
As per investigators, Azea has admitted to making threats after he was seen putting down a sum of $150 for a rifle in a pawn shop.
As pera report by DailyMail, the Olympian boxer appeared in Miami Dade County Court on Wednesday, November 23.
In an earlier interview, with the Daily Star, the owner of the gym, Attalla, detailed the incidents as he allegedly stated, “I think it was just a small incident inside the gym where he was just being very rude to one of the trainers that work(s) here, and the trainer basically said to him ‘look, I’ve got a class running, we’ve got people here, I just need you to finish up your training’.”
