MS Dhoni has conducted legal proceedings against G Sampath Kumar for his alleged statements against the Supreme Court and certain senior counsels in the matter pertaining to match-fixing. Sampath Kumar has allegedly filed an affidavit before the Supreme Court containing disparaging remarks against the judiciary and the senior counsel presenting the State in the cases against him.

M S Dhoni has filed a civil suit to permanently restrain Sampath Kumar in 2014 who was the then Inspector General of Police. He made a statement related to MS Dhoni to match-fixing and spot-fixing of the cricket matches. He requested the court to direct him for paying an amount of INR 100 crore towards damages.
By an interim order which got passed on 18th of March in 2014 the court restrained Sampath Kumar from stating any of the statements against MS Dhoni. Apart from the order Sampath Kumar allegedly filed an affidavit before the Supreme Court. When it was brought to the notice of the Madras High Court, it took the same on its file in December of 2021.
MS Dhoni preferred to represent contempt application on the 11th of October this year to punish Sampath Kumar for his bad and rubbish action of making remarks against the judiciary in violation of the court’s, interim order passed in year 2014.

G Sampath Kumar hails from Tamil Nadu, India. Kumar has attended Bharathiar University which is located in Coimbatore and he also went to Bharathiar School of Management. He is a 1997 cadre officer and he has not disclosed his personal details much. He is in the limelight presently because of the 2013 betting scandal that took place during the Indian Premier League. Kumar is involved in this as he was the one who carried out the investigation. The cricketer is taking help of the court as according to him his remarks were defamatory. However, the court hasn’t given any verdict in this scandal case yet.
