Vincent van der Voort and Danny Noppert, both from the Netherlands, competed against each other on Saturday afternoon in Dortmund with his bullseye shot video viral
The two darts players pushed each other all the way to a 19th leg to decide the winner.
The reigning UK Open champion won 10-9, setting up an all-Dutch quarterfinal match with Dirk van Duijvenbode, who beat world number five James Wade 10-7 in the second round.
Some big names have already lost in Dortmund, which has made the competition a little more open. This shows how good the sport has become, as any of the remaining players is more than capable of winning the title.
Vincent Van Der Voort Hits An Impossible Bullseye At The European Darts Championship, Video Goes Viral
Van der Voort was ahead in all of the important categories, except for the most important one, which was legs won. Even though he lost, he definitely did his part in an exciting fight on the oche.ย He had a 94.45 average compared to Noppert’s 92.05 average.
Also he had five 180s, which was one more than his opponent. He also had a better checkout percentage on doubles (36% compared to 32.3%), but it wasn’t enough to beat Noppert.ย Even the highest score of the contest, 135, was shot by van der Voort. He hit a “impossible” bullseye, which even surprised himself.
Vincent Van Der Voort Hits An Impossible Mark!
In the second leg, van der Voort held throw thanks to an impressive ton-plus checkout. Noppert was on 104 and ready to bounce if his 135 didn’t go.ย He did things the usual way and shot for the bullseye with his first dart, knowing that a score of 25 would give him a chance at a checkout. He hit the outer bull, which put him on 110 with two darts left.
His switch to the top of the board was perfect, giving him the bull for the leg. However, his first dart stood up to the right, covering the target. You could see van der Voort take a step back, say “impossible,” and then hit the bull to win the leg.

It was a great bullseye. Even though tonne plus checkouts on the bull are much more common these days, it was still impressive to hit the bullseye with the first dart of the visit. The European Darts Championship will be shown all weekend on ITV4, starting this afternoon. The winner will be announced on Sunday night.
