She has twin sisters, Licha and Lima, who were kick-boxers and participated till the national level and didn’t play after that.
Initially Lovlina began her career as a kickboxer, but then later changed it to boxing. She also participated in the trials, which were held at her high school conducted by Sports Authority of India. Padum Boro, her coach, recognized her from those trials and has been coaching her since 2012. Shiv Singh, chief of women’s coach later coached her.

Her selection in the 2018 Commonwealth Games played a huge role in her successful stint in the India Open International boxing championship, which was held in February 2018, in which she had won a gold medal, for the welterweight category. During the 2017 Asian Boxing Championship, which was held in Vietnam, she had won a bronze medal. She had also won a bronze medal in the 2017 President’s Cup, which was held in Atsana.
