Following the fantastic win of Aman, his coach Lalit Kumar spoke up in a recent interview where he told the media outlets, “I told him it’s not enough to reach the final.

“You have to wrestle for gold. Before you, 6-7 players from India have already won silver.”

Who is Aman Sehrawat?

Aman, who hails from a Haryana’s village named Birohar, Jhajjar district, is a wrestler. Both of his parents had passed away when he was 11 years old.

In a 2021 interview with Hindustan Times, after Aman won 2021’s national championship, his coach, Lalit Kumar revealed that the wrestler had trained in Chhatrasal stadium as he said, “He didn’t have many visitors at Chhatrasal.

“Many other boys have been sent by their families to train at Chhatrasal. Usually, their parents would bring them milk and other food from their home to help with their diet. There was nothing like that for Aman.”

Chhatrasal stadium is also known as the home of Punia, Ravi Dahiya, and former Olympian Sushil Kumar, who is presently in prison after being charged with murder.

In a 2020 interview, Aman revealed that his coach gave him advice after he lost the national wrestling finals of 2020. At the time, the wrestler revealed that, “He told me that I need to get closer to the opponent to attack.”

At the time, Puniya and Dahiya both won the silver medals for our country at the U-23 World Championship.

In a previous interview, Sehrawat revealed that he got inspired from Kumar’s win at 2008 Beijing Olympics and that’s the thing that made him take up wrestling as a career.

Earlier, coach Lalit also pointed out a fact that Ravi and Aman both are quite similar in their wrestling styles as he said, “They have a very similar technique.”
