In front of a fervent home audience in Belfast, defending champion Mark Allen defeated Australian Neil Robertson 6-2 to advance to the BetVictor Northern Ireland Open final. This evening, Allen took the first unfinished frame, but Robertson retaliated by winning it with a 56 break. With a contribution of exactly 100, Allen won the third and then made sure that the score was 3-1 going into halftime. When play resumed, The Pistol didn’t let up and hit a magnificent break of 136 to increase their lead to 4-1. With 68 in the sixth, Robertson brought him back, but a run of 60 in the seventh made it 5-2 for Allen.
McGill won a closely fought first frame on the pink, but Zhou responded with a break of precisely 100 to even the score. Following two frames of trading, they entered the mid-session locked at 2-2. When the players came back, Zhou, 24, came out on fire and scored an incredible 132 to take the lead. In the sixth, he had a 62-0 lead but missed a simple red to the top right.
With a clearance of 73, McGill pounced to grab the black and bring the score back to 3-3. Then, McGill put together a break of 101 off a fantastic long red to take the lead once again at 4-3. Zhou, though, suddenly sprung into life at that precise time and after once more drawing even, he won 6-4 thanks to consecutive centuries of 127 and 110.
There will undoubtedly be a boisterous atmosphere for Sunday’s final between Allen and Zhou. Additionally, the winner of tomorrow’s game will claim the final available spot in the next Champion of Champions event.

In accordance with the official statement, winner of 2022 Northern Ireland Open will get a prize of ยฃ80,000, while the runner-up will only receive ยฃ35,000 from total prize money of $427,000. After being ousted in the quarterfinals, Anthony McGill and Neil Robertson will each only be awarded ยฃ17,500 in prize money.
