2021 Men’s Rugby League World Cupย Results Today, Score, Upcoming Schedule, Date, Time, & Venue
Greece made its much-awaited Men’s Rugby League World Cup debut on Monday in Doncaster, where France defeated them 34-12. At halftime, France had three tries to give them a 20-0 advantage, and they added two more after the interval. On the 56th minute, Siteni Taukamo scored Greece’s first-ever World Cup try, bringing the score down to 26-6. In addition, France had done enough to tie England, whom they will face on Saturday, for first place in Group A, despite a brilliant late try by Nick Mougios.
Greece, who had players from both their own country and Australia, gave themselves a chance when Taukamo pounced on a kick-behind by captain Jordan Meads to score an important try. Before Jullien crossed on the overlap for his second try and fifth for France, Mourgue added a penalty. France will now play the hosts England in Bolton. But Greece, who will host Samoa on Sunday, ended a historic night on a high as Mougios caught Billy Magoulias’ wide kick at the buzzer while running, beating a man, and crossing the goal line.
On Wednesday, Tonga and Papua New Guinea will clash in first game of Group D at Totally Wicked Stadium. Both teams will be looking to grasp a victory and gain momentum by taking early lead of group.
