In a shocking incident, police arrested a 21-year-old Virat Kohli fan in Tamil Nadu on Thursday for allegedly murdering his friend after a drunken fight insinuated between the two over who was a better cricketer – Rohit Sharma or Virat Kohli with arrest Kohli now trending on Twitter
According to reports, the outrageous incident took place in Tamil Nadu’s Poyyur village in Ariyalur district.

The deceased was identified as P Vignesh (24) and he was a Rohit Sharma fan. The murderer was Dharmaraj, a Virat Kohli supporter.
The two were both friends and the pair were apparently hanging out together near the SIDCO factory.
A Drunken Brawl
The two friends were apparently discussing cricket, while drinking and the conversation soon escalated into a fight after an argument.
The two were discussing about their favourite players and after a disagreement, Dharmaraj attacked Vignesh with a bottle and later hit him with a cricket bat on the head. Dharmaraj fled the scene after the murder.
A group of workers on their way to the SIDCO factory the next day spotted Vignesh’s body the and alerted the local police.
The police sent Vignesh’s body to the government hospital in Ariyalur for autopsy and immediately registered a case.
According to the police, Vignesh was supporting Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL) while Dharmaraj was a Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) supporter.
Official Police Statements
Following the incident, police personnel stated the following:
“Both had consumed liquor. As per the initial investigation, Vignesh was supporting Mumbai Indians in Indian Premier League (IPL) while Dharmaraj was a Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) supporter”
“During the course of their debate, Vignesh had allegedly mocked RCB and Virat Kohli. Vignesh had the habit of body shaming Dharmaraj, who was a stammerer.
On that day he had made some remarks comparing the RCB team to the speaking difficulty of Dharmaraj. This infuriated Dharmaraj who attacked Vignesh with a bottle and later hit him with a cricket bat on the head. Dharmaraj soon fled the spot.”
