Yu-Gi-Oh! Creator Kazuki Takahashi, 60, Passed Away On July 4 While Attempting To Prevent Three Other People From Drowning And The News Of His Death Reason Was Confirmed By The Military Daily Stars And Stripes
Nearly 20 years ago, when Yu-Gi-Oh! first became popular, Kazuki Takahashi became an instant legend in the manga and animation communities. The news that Kazuki had passed away in July caused a great deal of sadness among his fans.

According to the police report at the time, Kazuki drowned, but no more information was provided. A recent investigation has made it clear that the manga artist showed outstanding bravery just before he took his last breath.
Kazuki Takahashi’s Cause of Death
A US Army soldier “has been acknowledged for rescuing three people from a riptide at a prominent Okinawa dive area in an episode that supposedly killed a well-known Japanese manga artist,” according to the news bulletin for the US Department of Defense.
Following the July 4 events at Mermaid’s Grotto in Okinawa, Major Robert Bourgeau was recommended for a medal. Robert reportedly went out in his running shoes to assist three people who were battling in a perilous riptide, including two Japanese civilians and a fellow soldier. Scuba diver Robert was able to bring both people to the land and then led his fellow soldier back.
But according to many witnesses who gave the army formal testimony, Kazuki also jumped in to help during the rescue. According to the reporting, individuals who were present where the action took place “caught glimpses of him till he went beneath the waves.”
A Hero Who Lost His Life While Saving Others
The Japanese Shore Guard recovered Kazuki’s body the following day, drifting off the coast of Nago. It is a town in northern Okinawa, and his automobile was later located parked at Mermaid’s Grotto.
According to reports, there were large waves breaking against the riptide and it was a violent riptide. The maelstrom formed by these waves started engulfing the swimmers and eventually took Kazuki’s life.
According to Robert, who spoke with Stars & Stripes, “He’s a hero.” He lost his life while attempting to save another.
