Her full name is Helen Elizabeth Skelton. She was born on 19 July 1983 in Carlisle, Cumbria, England. Gavin, her only sibling, was a professional football player and a player-manager.
She first attended Appleby Grammar School before switching to the neighborhood primary school. She eventually earned a BA in journalism from the Cumbria Institute of the Arts.
She is also a certified tap dancing instructor and has stated that if she weren’t a broadcaster, she would work in the educational field.
She married Richie Myler, a member of the England national rugby league team, in December 2013. Together, they both have three children and their names are Ernie, Louis, and Elsie Kate. On April 25, 2022, she revealed on her Instagram account that they got separated.

Helen Skelton performed as an extra in “Coronation Street and Cutting It” while she was a college student.
She briefly worked in public relations before choosing to focus on journalism. Before beginning her role as a breakfast host on BBC Radio Cumbria in 2005, she worked in the newsrooms of CFM Radio and Border Television.
She co-hosted the BBC children’s show, Blue Peter, from 2008 to 2013 and has been a Countryfile presenter since 2014. Alongside Angela Rippon and Joe Crowley, she co-hosted two seasons of the BBC One show Holiday Hit Squad. She also served as the host of the two-season daytime program The Instant Gardener.
