Indian Cricketers COVID Donation: Indian cricket stars are coming forward and helping the nation in the time of need during this pandemic.

India is going through a serious outbreak of Covid-19 currently. There are 350k+ cases a day. Hospitals are full and there’s a shortage of hospital beds in the country and to go with that there’s a scarcity of oxygen and other essential medicines.

The whole country has been seriously affected by this pandemic and cricket is no exception either. IPL 2021 was postponed due to covid-19 outbreak in the bio-bubble and several players being infected. In such bad situation the Indian cricket stars are coming forward and helping the nation with donations and by providing essentials to the ones in need.

VIRAT KOHLI

Indian Cricket Team skipper Virat Kohli and his wife Anushka Sharma donated Rs 2 crore in India’s fight against the deadly pandemic of Covid-19. They are aiming to raise Rs 7 crores for COVID relief in India, the power couple kickstarted the fundraising campaign #InThisTogether on Ketto – a popular crowd-funding platform.

The fund-raising campaign which is in full swing is expected to run for a week. Kohli and Anushka’s fundraiser for COVID-relief has already raised INR 3.6 crore in less than 24 hours.

SACHIN TENDULKAR

Indian Legend and One of the greatest cricketers Sachin Tendulkar has donated Rs 1 crore to produce oxygen concentrators for hospitals across India. Indian Batting Legend donated some amount for Covid relief fund as well.

Sachin Tendulkar himself got positive for Covid-19 but now he is fully recovered and always keen to help against this second wave of Covid-19.

AJINKYA RAHANE

Indian Test Team Vice-Captain and senior cricketer Ajinkya Rahane has donated 30 oxygen concentrators. Ajinkya Rahane made an additional contribution of 30 oxygen concentrators to help the most affected districts of Maharashtra.

RISHABH PANT

To fight against this second wave of Covid-19, Indian Wicket Keeper Batsman Rishabh Pant has donated an amount to make oxygen concentrators. Rishabh Pant has come out in support of Hemkunt Foundation.

His donation will help provide oxygen cylinders, beds, Covid relief kit and other resources.

SHIKHAR DHAWAN

Indian Opener and senior batsman Shikhar Dhawan has donated 20 lacs and all his individual awards to fight against this second wave of Covid-19. His contribution will help to mission oxygen to help fund the requirement of oxygen.

He also urged the eligible ones to donate Plasma and help people for the battle of Covid-19. He had vowed to fund the purchase of ‘Haemonetics Apheresis Machine’ for Plasma Bank.

IRFAN AND YUSUF PATHAN

PANDYA BROTHERS

During the IPL 2021, Hardik Pandya announced that his family will contribute to fight against this second wave of Covid-19 pandemic. Pandya brothers will be producing 200 oxygen concentrators to help aid the medical facilities in the rural areas.

They showed gratitude to every single frontline medical staff, NGOs, corporates and individuals who have held hands together in these difficult times.

GAUTAM GAMBHIR

Indian senior batsman and current member of the parliament Gautam Gambhir again gave his important contribution to fight against this second wave of deadly pandemic. He donated 200 oxygen concentrators to help the citizens of the national capital.

Gautam Gambhir took all responsibility for these 200 cylinders and before he arranged required tablets for COVID positive patients along with help of another senior player Murli Kartik.
