In a tribute to classic shows like ‘Are You Afraid of the Dark,’ the streaming giant has depicted quite a bit horror tales in each of the episodes, and by the time the climax came, it was all about fear and acceptance.

The final episode came with some big moments however, as usual Flanagan chose the unconventional way out by making the ultimate theme about fear of death and eventually acceptance.

The Midnight Club Episode 10 Ending Explanation

The finale episode starts in the high-adrenaline setting of Shasta who’s trying to poison Ilonka, the terminally ill patient who was searching for a cure for something that doesn’t exist.

After Dr. Georgia managed to stop the cult leader, she made her escape leaving behind Ilonka and her broken belief.

The next scene surrounds Ilonka’s journey into complete acceptance.

Though she initially asks Dr. Georgia does not tell her peers about her misdemeanor in helping Shasta and the members of the cult to enter the building, however she eventually reveals everything to them at the very end.

Before that, she makes peace with herself by completely accepting death. She even tells her foster father about her wishes for the funeral, directing that she has finally moved on from the phase of telling against death to greeting it like a friend.

Later, she also met and talked to Rhett and gave him some personal possessions of Anya in the process also accepting her death.

The third act of the episode saw the group rejoin for another round of storytelling at the Midnight Club. This time the group is led by Kevin, who finally decided to finish his tale.

After the one fascinating story, Ilonka comes to join as she finishes her own story, each of them injecting the stories with their fears and resolutions.

In the intimate and emotional ending, Ilonka and Kevin both accept their fates. They all come to terms with what is lying ahead.

By the end of the series, it all becomes an act of letting go. The duo, Ilonka and Kevin even share a kiss after a storytelling session.

But the final part of the show indicates some interesting yet out of ordinary things. It reveals that Dr. Stanton was wearing a wig all this time and had a tattoo that resembles the symbol of the cult.

Also, there are some pictures which reveal the faces of the ghosts that Ilonka and others have seen around the place.

After everything that happened, the show must be trying to say that it was not a supernatural tale, the show went on to establish that there are indeed mysteries surrounding the manor.

This left a path open for its sequel and left its viewers wondering what the thematic setting of the show actually was.
