Boca Juniors were seen indulging in a fight with the police in Brazil after their Copa Libertadores exit as they threw things ensuing their defeat in penalties
Every year, the Copa Libertadores is marred by extremely unsavoury scenes. Scuffles and brawls of colossal magnitude have become a tradition in the land of the South American competition with this edition being no different.
However, unlike visuals which typically emerge every season of players fighting between themselves, the videos which have filtered in ensuing Boca Juniors’ defeat have sent shockwaves across the global stage. Boca Juniors didn’t take too kindly to being knocked out on penalties with the side’s players losing all kind of semblance on the night.
In a defiant mood as they were asked to pack their bags and head for the exit door, the Argentina club went on a rampage. Putting the lives of the match referees to jeopardy, the side’s players ended up throwing everything their sights from chairs, cups and equipment at the match officials.

Things turned extremely sour as the fracas spilt out of the pitch as well and continued inside the premises of the stadium. The match officials who had rushed into the home team’s dressing room to take refuge saw the door of the dressing room being battered by Boca Juniors’ players.
Things got so out of hand that the Brazilian police was forced to intervene in Belo Horizonte. Visuals have emanated of the law enforcement authorities spraying the Boca Juniors players who were captured chocking as they hurled vile diatribe at the officials.

Boca Juniors players were lived at the match officials for being denied what they claimed was a perfectly legal goal. After being refereed to VAR, the goal was not given, the second time the visitors were denied a goal on the night.

Boca Juniors; Diego Gonzalez said: “We scored a good goal, and the fact is that we deserved to win the first game as well.
It sparked turmoil as Atletico Mineiro won 3-1 on penalties with both the set of players seen having a go at each other. However, Boca Juniors soon directed their ire at the referees with them clearly out for blood as they launched an assault on them.
