Here is everything we currently know about Call of Duty 2024, including the studio responsible for the upcoming version and a summary of the first leaks.

Details about the Call of Duty 2024 release date

Activision’s popular first-person shooter brand will skip a whole year with its mainstream series for the first time since 2004. Although the publishers haven’t yet announced it, Modern Warfare 2 is expected to run on a two-year cycle.

It’s too early to put up a definite release date because we’re still a few years away. However, the Call of Duty series has consistently released new instalments around the fourth quarter of each calendar year, making it likely that the 2024 game will be launched at some point in the fall.

14 of the previous Call of Duty games were released in November, whereas the latter five (including the upcoming MWII) all aimed for October. So it’s highly likely that we’ll be able to play the next significant instalment in the series before the end of 2024.

Microsoft’s historic acquisition of Activision Blizzard cast doubt on CoD’s future on non-Xbox platforms.

CEO Phil Spencer promptly allayed worries by assuring PlayStation fans that they will still have access to new games. However, there are indications of discord, with Jim Ryan, CEO of PlayStation, questioning Microsoft’s pledge to keep Call of Duty available on all platforms.

However, as of right now, it appears that CoD 2024 will be playable on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC. Depending on the Microsoft acquisition, which is still being fought in some areas, that might alter.
