The radio host passed away at the age of 64 on Wednesday, October 5.
As per the announcement made by his station, Bernard was battling with prostate cancer for a while now.

He was the host of WABC’s ‘Bernie & Sid in the Morning’ with his co-host Sid Rosenberg. He was also a long-time executive producer and personality of the program ‘Imus in the Morning.’
He was working as the radio host in New York City since 1986 and had moved to WABC with Don Imus, the late radio icon. Bernard had a height of 6 feet 3 inches and net worth of $3 million.
According to a report by Fox News, the tragic news of McGuirk’s demise was confirmed by the President of Red Apple Media, Chad Lopez with a heart touching statement.
In his statement, Lopez said, “It is with profound sadness that I must share this news with you. Bernard McGuirk, husband, father and our friend passed away yesterday, Oct. 5, in the company of his family.
“Bernie courageously battled cancer for all to see and hear, in a manner that was inspiring to all of us.”
As per a post by the New York Post, his friends revealed that McGuirk has been off the air in recent months as his cancer was aggravated by appendicitis and pneumonia.
As per Lopez, the host’s talent helped the show become the station’s flagship morning program in 2018 and New York City’s No 1 news talk morning show in 2022.
Lopez concluded his statement, “He will be missed by all that knew him and listened to him, a true gentleman, he is the fabric of the morning show.
After learning the news of the station’s No. 1 show’s death, the former Mayor of New York City, Rudy Giuliani paid tribute to McGuirk.
He took to his Twitter and penned down, “Radio legend #BERNARDMcGURK succumbed to prostate cancer after a heroic battle. Bernie was brilliant, a Renaissance man and a wonderful person.
McGuirk is survived by his wife, Carol, and children Melanie and Brendan. Our condolences to the family, friends and fans of Bernard McGuirk. May the departed soul rest in peace!
