Contrary to earlier reports, which stated that “Laal Singh Chaddha” would not be available on Netflix until six months after its theatrical premiere, it is now announced that this decision was made because of the movie’s dismal box office performance. According to a source, the movie will start streaming on Netflix on October 20.
The report stated, after much back and forth, the “Laal Singh Chaddha” producers and Netflix ultimately reached an agreement. Aamir was rumoured to have asked for a whopping Rs 150 crore agreement with Netflix for streaming rights earlier. But after the movie failed to impress both the critics and the audience, a contract was finally struck at a cost of roughly Rs 50 crore. The movie was made on a budget of Rs.180 crore.
Amir Worked On The Movie For Four Years, Yet He Received No Payment For It.
According to a recent rumour in Bollywood Hungama, Aamir has actually chosen to forego his acting remuneration of over Rs 100 crore in order to “take all the losses” of the movie’s failure.
A source has reported by the outlet as stating, “His opportunity cost on Laal Singh Chaddha is upwards of Rs. 100 crores, yet he has decided to shoulder all the losses laying the whole blame of failure on himself.โ
Star Cast Of The Movie
In regards to “Laal Singh Chaddha,” the Tom Hanks-starring Hindi adaptation of the Academy Award-winning movie “Forrest Gump” was directed by Advait Chandan.
In addition to Atul Kulkarni who wrote the screenplay for the movie, the lead cast was Amir Khan and Kareena Kapoor. It also featured important roles for Naga Chaitanya, Mona Singh, Manav Vij, Ahmad Ibn Umar, and Hafsa Ashraf.ย
