John Cena made an unprecedented return to WWE after a hiatus of 15 months as he made a foray during the Money in the Bank event
After the return of spectators to WWE was marked at the bygone Money in the Bank 2021 event, the next big return everyone was contemplating was that of John Cena. Although rumours were rife of him returning to the arena for the next Smackdown event, there was no official news on his return.
Keeping things extremely secretive and under the wraps, WWE managed to pull off a massive surprise during Sunday’s Money in the Bank. John Cena was once again reintroduced to the competition after hiatus of 15 months as he made a shock return ensuing Roman Reigns win against Edge.
John Cena Halts Roman Reigns’ Jubilation With Return To WWE In Money in the Bank 2021
Reigns who was soaking the moment as he defeated Edge to retain his Universal Championship title was cut short by John Cena. Making an advent onto the stage to his conventional music, Cena performed his customary, “You can’t see me” celebration in Reigns’ face.
Cena’s return got a raucous welcome, perhaps the high point of the Money in the Bank event. The wrestler was welcomed to a rapturous ovation by the crowd who were delighted to once again see their favourite back in the ring.

While the two threw no punches, its widely speculated that the two will be locking heads in the ensuing edition of Smackdown in Las Vegas. Cena holds an avid interested in the Universal title which Reigns currently possesses.

Reigns meanwhile managed to successfully stave away Edge to keep hold of his coveted belt. Despite finding himself in a perilous position during the showdown, Reigns found help in Seth Rollins who distracted Edge, allowing Reigns much needed leeway to pin down Edge.
Whilst Edge was left fuming with what had transpired, Reigns rejoiced in the moment as he threw the match winning spear after which he claimed that it was time for the whole world to finally acknowledge him.
