The Indonesian government apologized to the fans for the mishap following the terrible situation

Zainudin Amali, Indonesia’s minister of sports and youth, said to broadcaster Kompas, “We’re sorry for this occurrence… this is a terrible act that ‘injures’ our football at a time when supporters may watch football matches from the stadium.” “We will carefully assess how the match was organized and how many fans showed up. Will we go back to forbidding fans from attending games? We’ll talk about that.”

In Indonesia, where intense rivalries have in the past resulted in lethal clashes, fan violence is a persistent issue. Because of the history of hostility between Persebaya Surabaya and Arema FC, Persebaya Surabaya supporters were prohibited from purchasing tickets to the game.

The match should have been held in the afternoon rather than the evening, according to Mahfud MD, who claimed that the organizers disregarded this advice.
“This game… often motivates fans to quickly vent emotions,” he remarked.

The Indonesian League has now been postponed for a week as a result of this incident. The public was reassured by the Indonesian Football Association (PSSI) that an investigation will be conducted.
