Kyogo Furuhashi from the J1 League will now be plying his skill set in Scotland after sealing a transfer to Celtic
For not only Kyogo Furuhashi but for the J1 League as well, Kyogo’s impending transfer to the Scottish Premier League is a defining moment.
With not many players from Japan are plying their skill set on the global stage, Kyogo making it big is a testament to the sprawling talent prevalent in the country. The player’s switch to Scottish side Celtic is a befitting one with the wide attacking player being rewarded for his exceptional expertise.
Vissel Kobe’s Kyogo Furuhashi Seals Transfer To Celtic
While Kyogo’s transfer remains subject to a medical, all other terms necessary to procedure with the move have been agreed upon. Vissel Kobe took to their site on Friday to assert that they and Celtic had agreed upon terms.
However, a transfer fee for the player wasn’t made public.
Ange Postecoglou is set to have played a massive role in bringing Kyogo Furuhashi to Celtic. Previously the head coach of Yokohama F. Marinos in the J1 League with him winning a title with the Marinos in 2019, Celtic’s current coach Ange is well versed with what Kyogo is capable of.
Having seen enough of the Vissel Kobe player during his time in Japan, Ange decided it was in his and Celtic’s best interests to indulge in the player’s services. Kyogo won the Emperor’s Cup with Vissel Kobe back in 2019 with him playing an integral role in the side’s win.
Kyogo has ever since gone onto earn international caps for his country Japan with him scoring twice in his country’s 14-0 demolition of Mongolia. He’s played a total of six international ties with him scoring for his country against Tajikistan as well.
Furuhashi also played a pivotal role in guiding Kobe to their maiden AFC Champions League campaign. The player’s ability to work the flanks and layup the ball for his peers caught Celtic’s eye who decided to entrust Kyogo for their new season.
