Today marks the completion of both shows, but while Engage Kiss viewers count down to the season 1 finale, many are already considering the prospect of a second date. What are the possibilities that Engage Kiss will return for a second broadcast even if season 2 has not yet been announced?

On Saturday, September 24th, the thirteenth episode of Engage Kiss is expected to air.

RENEWAL STATUS FOR SEASON 2 OF ENGAGE KISS
What are the possibilities that Engage Kiss will continue into a second broadcast? Despite the fact that A-Pictures has not yet publicly renewed the anime for season 2?
The first thing to note is that Engage Kiss is an original work. Not an adaptation of any already well-known light novel or manga series. Unfortunately, this necessitates delaying the start of a prospective second season until a fresh plot can be developed.
The ratings and reviews for Engage Kiss’s first season of broadcasting were somewhat ordinary. The anime currently has a disappointing 6.5/10 on IMDB. 67% on Anilist, 3.4/5 on Anime Planet, and 7.07/10 on MyAnimeList before the release of episode 13.
THE RATINGS & POPULARITY
These ratings do not rule out a renewal outright, but they do raise the question of whether A-Pictures believes Engage Kiss is deserving of the resources required to produce a second season.
“The lead women are rather standard. Even though they both cope with Ogata’s bullshit quite well and bounce off of him effectively, they don’t really stand out as distinct people. I can’t argue that seeing this has no value; just the animation makes me want to watch more. Because A-Pictures already has a very busy 2023 ahead of them, fans can anticipate a very lengthy wait for Engage Kiss season 2.
Nier: Automata Ver. 1 is currently being worked on in the studio. The next year, Mashle will release Magic and Muscles, Solo Leveling, Eisen Flugel, and Kaguya-sama: Love is War – First Kiss Never Ends.
Even if A-1 Pictures prioritised Engage Kiss season 2 over Lycoris Recoil season 2, which has been one of the best shows of the lineup, we would be shocked.
Overall, Season 2 of Engage Kiss is likely to be pushed down A-1 Pictures’ priority list until late 2023 if it is renewed due to the lack of global popularity.
