EuroBasket 2022 Semi-final Results & Spain vs France Final Schedule
On its road to securing a position in the EuroBasket title game, France delivered a message as Friday’s semifinal of 2022 EuroBasket saw France defeat Poland 95-54 thanks to 22 points from Guerschon Yabusele. In a EuroBasket medal-round game played under the current tournament structure, the 41-point margin was the biggest ever. Spain, who defeated host Germany 96-91 in Friday’s other semifinal, will be the next opponent for France.
Spain beat host Germany in the second semifinal thanks to Lorenzo Brown’s 29 points and a 13-0 run in the fourth quarter. Germany had a 10-point lead late in the third quarter but lost momentum in the early moments of fourth quarter. During the crucial run that flipped the game in Spain’s favor, Juancho Hernangomez scored seven of his game-high 13 points and helped in turning a 70-77 deficit into an 83-77 lead for Spain.
The bronze and gold-medal contests will be played on Sunday as Germany will take on Poland for bronze-medal while Spain will clash against France for the gold medal in a repeat of 2011 EuroBasket final. Tickets for the event can be purchased from here.
