Like a Dragon 8 is the title of the upcoming Yakuza game, know the release date of Return of Kiryu
The upcoming mainline Yakuza entry was unveiled at the 2022 RGG Summit, much like Dragon 8.
One of the three significant announcements made at the occasion was this one. Although there are some hints for fans to look forward to, many of the game’s specifics are yet unknown.

Although the game is far along in the development process, there is currently no set date for its release. Fans only know that the game will release in 2024 as far as that is concerned.
The release date for Like a Dragon 8 has been set for 2024, and Kiryu from the Yakuza will reappear with Ichiban Kasuga.

During the lecture, this quotation was cited to clarify the overarching theme of Like a Dragon 8. Ichiban Kasuga is the hero who carries the future on his back, whereas Kiryu stands for the one who has the past on his back.

The game will maintain its RPG foundations, according to information provided at the 2022 RGG Summit, but little is known about how the game will function beyond that. It’s also been reported that Kiryu will have his group of supporting cast members.
Although other characters haven’t been confirmed, Nanba and Adachi have been seen in cutscenes and are therefore probably going to appear in the game in some capacity.
The fact that there will be two characters in this game is another intriguing aspect.
In Like a Dragon 8, Ichiban Kasuga & Kazuma Kiryu team up as the main characters. It is unclear if this entails their being divided up like in Yakuza 0, or if parties will shift ownership.
Takaya Kuroda, who plays Kiryu, suggested that Kiryu is going to debut a brand-new combat style. Although the nature of this style is unclear, it might be related to another announcement.
Unfortunately, there is still a long way to go before Like a Dragon 8 is released, but series fans have a lot to look forward to in the years to come.
